China-friendly Search Engine Launched Today, BSU Late Night has launched a China-friendly search engine. Since Google announced plans to uncensor all search results and pull out of China, that lives a pretty big gap for a new search engine to come in and compete with whatever other search engine was competing with Google.
Vintage Union, Brent Smalley, and FREE Shotglasses! BSU Late Night is filming an episode Thursday, March 18 at 6:00pm. Doors open at 5:45pm in Studio A of the Ball Communications Building. At the end of this entry is a video of how to get to the studio.
We are going to have a live band, The Vintage Union, in the studio along with stand-up comedian Brent Smalley! Already those are two great reasons to come, but since our fans grew from less than 200 to nearly 500 fans in a matter of a week, we're giving away FREE shotglasses to our fans.
Who is Kevin and his family? "We'd like to thank Kevin and his family from Hinsdale High School. They were taking a tour of Ball State's Telecommunications Department and are now stuck operating our studio's cameras and holding our cue cards." was heard in the opening of our St. Patty's Day Episode (912 if you're counting). Survey Junk Mail! Junk mail. Don't we all love it? Here at Ball State, they have introduced ways to manage subscriptions. I have chosen to stay subscribed to "Survey Participation" because, well, they give you cool stuff sometimes. But sometimes, you got to wonder at what point do you STOP sending the same survey out again and again? That's right, I said the SAME survey. Below is a screenshot of the email:
Two thing to note:
• They're giving away an iPod Touch
• It's the THIRD TIME they've sent out this email.
Now, why in the world is no one responding to the email to get an iPod Touch? Read more to found out! See full entry / comment
BSU Late Night WIN! Remember our blog about CardinalVision's website? Well, looks like CardinalVision has responded (indirectly, of course) and taken down their website. Here's what it looks like right now (minus the BSULN WIN! of course).
So now they are working on getting up a website for the THIRD time (as the new CardinalVision). Third time is the charm right? Hopefully they'll finish it.
Let's take this time to review some other awesome stuff the new CardinalVision has done:
New episode online February 1! The long winter hiatus is almost over as BSU Late Night hits the interwebs Monday, February 1 with our new episode! Below are two teasers to hold you over until Monday.
Illuminate your Browser At one point, Cardinal Vision 57's...ahem...CardinalVision's website was complete with contact information, a listing of shows, some great stuff, really. Cardinal Vision 57 become CardinalVision (pretty much a whole new team of people determined to operate the station into making money and become awesome!) Good deal, spice up some promotions and what-not! Journey with us now into the new WEBSITE (cardinalvision.net) as it exists right now! See full entry / comment
Finding the BSU Late Night Studio Jeff takes you on a journey to find the studio that BSU Late Night tapes at. This is easier to follow than any maps we would attempt to draw in Microsoft Paint (do they still have that?)
Blogging. This could get interesting. We're officially blogging for the second half of Season Nine! Our blogs will let you take a sneak-peek behind the scenes of BSU Late Night, but also will allow you to see our commentary on campus life at Ball State throughou... See full entry / comment
